St. Augustine April 2019 Specials & Events

St. Augustine Coffee April Specials

April in Saint Augustine

No pranks about it, March is behind us and April is already here. While some welcome the first of April with tricks, we instead would like to treat you to the newest happenings in the oldest city.

The month of March had our shop bustling with spring breakers, bikers and locals alike. In April, we are happily taking a breath of fresh spring air {if the pollen allows it} to deliver floral coffee and tea specials. These new treats are perfect spring sipping on a sunny afternoon.

Our Honey Lavender special complements the new blooms in St. Augustine with its notes of spring. Fragrant and floral lavender flavor combines with smooth local honey from Stubbees for a fresh and balanced drink.

Differently, we are thrilled to introduce a new City Perks Coffee creation: Nitro Iced Tea! As summer starts to show its balmy temperatures, beat the heat with our Jasmine Citrus tea on nitro. Smooth and ever-so-refreshing, one sip brings organic flavors of jasmine, lemongrass, calendula, orange, and tangerine. Thanks to local provider Moonbooch for the loose leaf tea we use to create this special!

Starting this month, City Perks Coffee Co. is casting the spotlight on a new single origin coffee each month. It is our hope to bring attention to the spectrum of single origin roasts we offer, and help Saint Augustine coffee-lovers explore new and exciting options. This month, our featured coffee is the Guatemala El Quiche.

April Single Origin Craft Coffee

This light-to-medium roasted brew carries notes of caramel, orange and vanilla. Well-rounded, yet vibrant, we feel it is an excellent choice for springtime sipping.

As with all our retail coffee bags, the El Quiche is roasted each week and delivered fresh to our cafe. You won’t catch City Perks with any stale coffee! We simply value the product too much to allow it. Our roasters, Sweetwater Organic Coffee Co., hail from Gainesville, FL- just a short drive from Saint Augustine. They pride themselves in all organic and fair-trade quality coffee.

This particular single origin coffee is grown in the Ixil triangle and Chucutumanes, Northern Quiche. The farm, Asociación Chajulense, was founded in 1988 by 40 coffee farmers. Today, it is comprised of over 1,500 total members. Their main export is coffee, though they also harvest other products such as cardamom, cheese, honey and handicrafts.

The primary objective of Asociación Chajulense is to “promote a sustainable development model that is environmentally sound, economically feasible, fair from a social point of view and appropriate from a cultural standpoint.”

Join the Nation’s Oldest City in celebrating April and all it has to offer. With the temperatures rising and the flowers blooming, it’s an excellent time to explore Historic Downtown St. Augustine.
